The book of Judges tells the fascinating story of the judges in Israel, at a time when there was a noticeable leadership vacuum that led to oppression and disaster for the nation. In those days, much like in modern democracies, each person forged their own morality, truth and spirituality. Into this vacuum God raised up men and women as leaders, despite their flaws and weaknesses, to cure the leadership vacuum and to lead His people back to obedience to His laws.
\nAll too often people look to politics and philosophy as the answer to crime, violence, inequality and social ills, but I believe what we truly need is sound spiritual leadership.
